Gillett Rail Runners ATV Club

September 18, 2006

1.

President, Chris Engebretsen called the meeting to order.

 

 

2.

Secretary's Report – Justin Bennett made a motion to approve the 8-29-06 minutes, second by Jesse Jenerou, carried.

 

 

3.

Treasurer's Report – there was no Treasurer's Report available. Just a note though: make sure that you get any Dusty Trails raffle tickets to Gary ASAP.

 

 

4.

Power Pull – Shane Rank

 

a.

On Monday, September 25 fencing and posts will go up. Work will start at 3:00 pm.

 

b.

Barriers will need to be put up in the park on Thursday, September 28 beginning at 5:00 pm.

 

 

5.

Drags – Shane Rank and Dallas Hoerres

 

a.

Bleachers will be moved on Thursday, September 21. Oconto Falls Rough Riders will be renting the tent, generator, timing system, fencing, and posts to the club.

 

b.

Help is needed for food and beverages as well as parking directions.

 

 

 

6.

Parade – Bonnie Wetzel

 

a.

Help is needed with registration, staging, and so forth. Please sign up to help.

 

b.

Postcards are not being done since brochures were mailed out.

 

c.

Tom Lietz made a motion to authorize Bonnie to purchase stickers for the parade, second by Shane Rank, carried.

 

 

 

7.

X-treme Challenge – Perry Gilbertson

 

a.

Help is needed with setting up fencing and wrap.

 

b.

Discussion was held on the possibility of asking RGI for reimbursement for setting up and taking down the track. Shane Rank made a motion to ask for $500 for set up and $500 for take down, second by Tom Lietz, carried. Chris Engebretsen and Justin Bennett will attend the RGI Board meeting on September 19 to request the money.

 

 

 

8.

Poker Run – Brandon Miller

 

a.

The winners will be announced after the X-treme Challenge on Saturday.

 

 

 

9.

If you ordered a t-shirt, see Mike and Barb after the meeting to pick it up, or see them before the pull on Friday. Make sure you wear your shirt on the ATV Weekend.

 

 

10.

Other Business

 

a.

There is a mudhole on the trail by the recycling center that needs to be filled in right away.

 

b.

Grading can't be done by the demo grader until a part is in. Discussion was held on using a leveler to take off some rough edges. Shane Rank made a motion to ask Zippel to grade the trail before the ATV Weekend if possible, second by Jesse Jenerou, carried. Chris will contact them.

 

c.

Work from the trestle to Shawano Co. line was supposed to have been covered by a grant but wider culverts need to be put in before the grant is approved and before snowmobile season. This needs to be on the October meeting agenda.

 

 

11.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 2 which will be a work night since it is right after the ATV Weekend. Work will begin at 4:00 pm – show up when you can. Meet at the pull track in the park. The business meeting will be after the work is done.

 

 

12.

A suggestion was made to have meetings at locations on the northern and southern end of the trail. Justin Bennett will check on the availability of sites.

 

 

 

A recommendation was made to have a business membership available for our club. Dusty Trails has business memberships at the rate of $25. Discussion was also held on the development of a trail map. These items need to be on the agenda for an upcoming meeting. Grants should also be looked into.

 

 

13.

A motion to adjourn was made by Shane Rank, second by Justin Bennett , carried.
