Gillett Rail Runners ATV Club

1. |
President, Chris Engebretsen, called the meeting to order. |

2. |
Secretary's Report – Kaye Lietz read the minutes from the April 3, 2006 meeting. Jerry Wendt made a motion to approve the minutes as read, second by Troy Kohn, carried. |
|

3. |
Treasurer's Report – Gary Pemrich presented the Treasurer's Report which indicated a current balance of $700.42. Mark Wendt made a motion to approve the report, second by Brandon Miller, carried. |

4. |
ATV Trail Update: |

A. |
Gillett Section – all ready to go. |
|
B. |
County Section – Gary talked to the County Forester about the county section. Approval for it has passed the committee last month and once their minutes are approved then the trail will be approved. |
|
C. |
Green Valley Section – the final hearing will be this week on the ordinance, then it goes to a public hearing, then to the Town Board. Could be done in June. We might need to absorb the costs of signing this route. |
|
D. |
Suring Section – the last section (from Co. V to Suring) was granted by the county. |
|
|
5. |
Loan Update – Peshtigo National Bank would not approve the loan unless it was a personal note by a club member. However, the county (through Bruce Mommaerts) offered a loan through tourism dollars at a rate of 4% for a $15,000 loan for 5 years with yearly payments in November. |

|
6. |
Drags Update – Dallas Hoerres gave an update. Shane Rank will help to draw up a map to show others the layout to get their approval to go on their property (specifically the ambulance). Insurance quotes are needed for all events for the weekend. |
|
|
7. |
Pull Update – Shane Rank gave an update. Gary will be look for the registration forms from last year and those people will get a direct mailing for this year. |

8. |
Parade Update – there was nothing to report. |
|
|
9. |
ATV Adventure Weekend – Gary gave an update. The whole group has been meeting (RGI, GPPA, and our club) to work out details for the weekend. They will be trying to set up contracts between the three groups for items such as water and power. The schedule hasn't changed. There will be package pricing offered for the weekend events. |

10. |
Raffle License Update – our raffle license application was denied since our group has been in existence less than one year. |
|
|
11. |
Dusty Trails Raffle – for every raffle ticket that we sell, our club gets to keep $1.00 and the other dollar goes to Dusty Trails. See Gary if you want to sell tickets. |

Membership Cards – are on the back table – pick yours up if you haven't yet. |

1. |
Flyers for the ATV Weekend are available. |
|

2. |
Dusty Trails will leave the existing signs up. |
|
|
3. |
Brandon has old telephone poles available (free) that we can use for signs etc. Troy Kohn made a motion to accept the offer of the poles, second by Dick Rudie, carried. It was recommended that someone go out to look at the poles and determine how many will be needed. |

4. |
4 th of July – there will be a sign-up sheet at the June meeting. Many helpers will be needed. |
|
|
5. |
ATV Safety Class – recommendation was made to have one class per month if the instructors are willing, and the instructors both said yes. Jordan will work with Gary to set up the dates on the state website. Spirits will continue to take the registrations. There will also be a class during the ATV Adventure Weekend. |

13. |
New Business |

A. |
ATV Intensive Use Track – there is an opening in the fence on the south side. The track will stay up in the park until the end of July and then will be taken down for the Fair. It will be put back up for the ATV weekend. |

B. |
Posters – Gary has talked to Danyell Franti at the school about making some posters for in the kiosk in the park. |
|
C. |
Flyers – copies can be run at the school. Bonnie Wetzel has been working on a membership application that could also be available in the kiosk in the park. Tom Lietz made a motion authorizing Gary to spend money on the posters and other promotional material for the kiosk and other locations, second by Brandon Miller, carried. |

D. |
Route Signs in Gillett – waiting for feedback from the DNR on the next steps, since Council approved it. Custom signs can be done too with our logo. |

E. |
Other – discussion on possibility of getting shirts with the club logo. Also mentioned was the question of if we want to schedule a club ride. That item and scheduling a work day will be discussed at the next meeting. |

Adjourn – Dick Rudie made a motion to adjourn, second by Troy Kohn, carried. The next meeting will be held on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 7:00 pm. |
