Gillett Rail Runners ATV Club
July 5, 2006

President, Chris Engebretsen, called the meeting to order.

Secretary's Report – Kaye Lietz read the minutes from the June 5, 2006 meeting. Troy Kohn made a motion to approve the minutes as read, second by Jesse Jenerou, carried.

Treasurer's Report – Gary Pemrich presented the Treasurer's Report which indicated a current balance of $13,689.01. Tom Lietz made a motion to approve the report, second by Troy Kohn, carried.

Gary Pemrich made a motion to move Other New Business to this point on the agenda, second by Troy Kohn, carried.

Bassic Intensions presented a proposal for a DVD for the ATV Adventure Weekend. The total price would be $700, with a down payment of $350 when the contract is signed and the remainder due at the start of the weekend. All events would be included. After the presentation and a question/answer session, Tom Lietz made a motion that the Executive Committee meet with Revitalize Gillett, if they approve the taping then to go ahead and authorize the down payment, second by Troy Kohn, carried.

Old Business

a.

4 th of July Update – Chris gave an update on the events that occurred over the holiday. Special thanks were given to those who worked at the park, who helped with the parade float, who helped put the fence up, and to all who worked in any capacity.

b.

Trail Updates:

i.

Gillett to Suring – contract will be worked on next week. Trail miles will go to county line as our club's miles but the new portion of the trail is not funded this year.

ii.

Culvert is in and the trail is open to the county line. We are waiting for signs so they can be put up in Green Valley and then that section of the trail will also be open.

iii.

Gary Hansen of the DNR still is not returning calls regarding trails, signs, or anything.

iv.

A suggestion was made to put a lock on the gate at the county line.

v.

Dan Gumieny made a motion to ask Chris Engebretsen to grade the trail between the trestles, second by Steve Wetzel, carried. The expense will be $33 per hour rental fee plus fuel. Chris asked to be reimbursed if there are any damages to the tractor (for example, a blown tire). The suggestion was made to talk to Don Lisowe and John Simpson to make sure that there aren't any buried wires in this area.

vi.

The grass needs to be mowed on the trail from Gillett north. Dallas Hoerres made a motion to approve the expenditure for mowing, second by Troy Kohn, carried. The cost is 4 hours for $150, each hour after that is at $50 per hour, plus the tractor costs as outlined above. These expenses are reimbursable to the club.

c.

Loan Update – the loan has been received with the first payment due 12-1-06. We need to make sure that we are making money to ensure timely payments.

d.

Club Ride – is scheduled for Sunday, July 9. Dan Gumieny made a motion for Perry Gilbertsen to lead the ride, second by Shane Rank, carried. All who are going on the ride need to be in the park, ready to go, by 10:00 am on Sunday. A food sign-up sheet was handed around. All food needs to be at Spirits by Saturday so Gary and Vicky can have it ready when the club arrives. Dan Gumieny made a motion to pass around a bucket for donations for the cost of the meat, second by Troy Kohn, carried. Bruce Mommaerts has requested club photos of activities, so someone should take pictures (digital if possible) on Sunday.

e.

ATV Adventure Weekend – Shane gave an update on the planned events. There is a meeting of the groups involved on 7-12-06.

f.

Dusty Trails Raffle Tickets – please get your tickets and money in to Gary .

New Business

a.

Thank you notes need to be sent for donations of well casings, tubing, and equipment for ATV events. Gary Pemrich made a motion to have Tom make cards with an ATV on them to use for the thank you notes, second by Duane Mijal, carried. Kaye was asked to make sure that the notes go in the mail and aren't hand delivered.

b.

Sign for the trail near Suring is on hold at this time. Chris will help to work on it with the snowmobile club.

c.

Shane gave an update on workers needed for the ATV Adventure Weekend. All club members should sign up for working that weekend. Dallas Hoerres mentioned that the Gillett Rough Riders will be helping that weekend with the trophies and donation of equipment for the pulls and drags.

d.

There will be an ATV pull at Lena on July 29 th and our club is in charge of the food and beverage stand. Please sign up to work!

Adjourn – Troy Kohn made a motion to adjourn the meeting, second by Tom Lietz, carried. The next meeting will be held on Monday, August 7, 2006 at 7:00 pm at Spirits.
