Gillett Rail Runners ATV Club
January 23, 2006 |
I. |
The meeting was called to order by Acting Chair, Gary Pemrich. The Steering Committee, made up of Todd Rudie, Jordan Rank, Troy Sherman, Shane Rank, Chris Engebretsen, Gary Pemrich, and Tom Lietz have drafted By-Laws. The By-Laws were presented to the group. |

A motion to approve the By-Laws was made by Arl Rudie, second by Tom Lietz, carried. |
|

II. |
Membership dues will be $20 and must be paid in order to become a voting member of the club. |
|

III. |
Elections were held for the following positions: |

President – one year term |
|

Vice-President – two year term |
|

|

Treasurer – two year term |
|

|

|

Other Official Club Business |
|
A. |
Peshtigo National Bank was named as the designated depository. |
|
B. |
A Post Office box will be obtained for the club. |

C. |
The Times-Herald was named as the official newspaper. |

VI. |
New Business |
|
A. |
An Image Committee was named to work on logo, web site, etc. The committee will consist of Brandon and Gary. |
|
B. |
Trail from County V to Zippel Park will be the club's responsibility to maintain as of July 1, 2006. |

VII. |
Goals of Gillett Rail Runners ATV Club |
|
A. |
Troy Sherman made a motion to adopt opening of the ATV trail through the city to Green Valley as the first goal of the club, second by Troy Kohn, carried. |

VIII. |
Informational Items |
|
A. |
The draft of a letter to City Council requesting the opening of the ATV route through the city was shared. Corrections and modifications to the letter were suggested, such as proposing the route through the city.Troy Kohn made a motion to approve the corrected version of the letter and send it to council, second by Troy Sherman, carried. |

B. |
Another motion to modify the letter with stating that the trail would be designated as multi-purpose, multi-season was made by Troy Kohn, second by Jesse Jenerou, carried. |

C. |
Gary , Troy , Troy , and Perry will attend an upcoming meeting on February 20 for the SuperChallenge weekend. |
|
D. |
The club will apply for a raffle license. |
|

IX. |
Meeting Dates – the club meeting dates were set for the first Monday of the month at 7:00 pm at the meeting room at Spirits of Gillett. |

X. |
Other Discussion Items: |
|
A. |
Discussion was held regarding the ATV monies being used for items other than ATV trails. Dan Hoppe made a motion that the club go on record as supporting the county's position and letter asking for ATV money being used for ATV trails, second by Troy Kohn. Bruce Mommaerts mentioned that he could supply wording for such a letter and the motion was amended to include that information. Motion carried. |

Bruce also mentioned that the county would be willing to work with the club to develop parking, signs, and in trail development. |

C. |
There was discussion about ways to use the track in the park. After discussion, Troy Kohn made a motion to have the club sponsor ATV Safety classes, second by Bruce Mommaerts, carried. The city will be asked if the classes can be scheduled in the park using the track. |

D. |
Chris Engebretsen handed out information about an ATV track groomer for discussion purposes only. |
|
E. |
There was also discussion about potential grants, trails, and so forth. |

XI. |
Gary Pemrich made a motion to adjourn the meeting, second by Troy Sherman. The next meeting of the Gillett Rail Runners Club will be held on Monday, February 6, 2006 at 7:00 pm at Spirits of Gillett. |
