Gillett Rail Runners ATV Club

August 29, 2006

 

 

1.

President, Chris Engebretsen called the meeting to order.

 

 

2.

Secretary's Report – Dick Rudie made a motion to approve the 8-7-06 minutes as corrected, second by Dallas Hoerres, carried.

 

 

3.

Treasurer's Report – the balance in the account is $11,486.10 Jordan Rank made a motion to approve the treasurer's report, second by Brandon Miller , carried. Gary reported that the insurance has been paid for the year.

 

 

 

Chris presented a thank you from the 4 th of July Committee along with a check for the club's share, which is $600. The committee also included an additional amount of $100 as a thank you for all of the hard work.

 

 

 

Chris also presented a bill for the brushing and cutting, along with the costs for tractor rental and fuel. The total of all bills was $788.50.

 

 

 

Shane reported that the Lawnmower club in Lena had donated their share of the profits from the ATV pull in Lena to our club. That amount of $247.16 is reflected in the checkbook balance above.

 

 

4.

Old Business

 

a.

Pulls – Shane asked for a reduction in fees to $15 per pull. Dallas Hoerres made a motion to make the fees for both pulls and drags to $15, second by Jordan Rank, carried. On Wednesday, September 27 and Thursday, September 28 help will be needed to set up fences and tarps.

 

b.

Drags – set up is scheduled for September 13 through 17. Help is needed for that too. Trophies are being worked on with four sponsorships open yet. Workers are needed for the drags too – please sign up.

 

c.

Parade – to beat the new record we will need approximately 1200 machines in the parade. Volunteers are needed for this event too. Postcards will be going out to all registered ATV owners in the 54124 zip code asking for help with supporting the parade.

 

d.

ATV Weekend – the ATV registration list has been purchased by RGI and is being used for targeted mailings for weekend events.

 

 

5.

New Business

 

a.

Temporary route signs for ATV Weekend – the temporary routes need to be marked by the club, so additional signs might be needed. The Town of Gillett approved a route to the gas station and restaurant on the hill for three weekends, so that route also needs to be signed. A suggestion was made to post signs indicating that these are temporary routes only. Jordan made a motion to buy 20 small route signs, second by Jesse Jenerou, carried. Dallas Hoerres made a motion to also purchase 10 signs with “temporary” on them, second by Buck Rank, carried.

 

b.

White Signs for Arrows and Staging – these are needed for the parade and drags. Dallas volunteered to work on these.

 

c.

Lights On Signs – suggestion was made that the club put up signs for state laws regarding headlight use. A notice will be put up in the kiosk in the park.

 

d.

Posters for ATV Weekend – everyone should take posters and get them out.

 

 

6.

Other Business

 

a.

Jordan had information on a demo grader. Steve Wetzel made a motion that Jordan move forward with setting up the demo, second by Dick Rudie, carried. The trail will also need to be graded at the end of the ATV season.

 

b.

Perry mentioned that he had noticed a truck on the track and Chris mentioned seeing a truck parked in front of the gates on Shawano Line Rd. Apparently the locks for the gates are missing. Jordan will contact the county to get more locks.

 

c.

More breaker rock is needed on the trail due to culverts being washed out. That work will be done soon.

 

d.

Shirts – demos were available to look over. Sign up to order your shirt.

 

e.

So far, so good for the route on Green Valley Rd. Other issues of ATVs not on the trail or route were discussed and have been dealt with by the police department.

 

f.

The arrow in the parking lot between Pat's Market and Subway parking lots needs to be fixed again.

 

 

7.

A suggestion was made to have another meeting before the ATV Weekend. Barb Skalitzky made a motion to schedule the next meeting for Monday, September 18 th at 6:00 pm, second by Shane Rank, carried.

 

 

8.

A motion to adjourn was made by Shane Rank, second by Jesse Jenerou , carried.
